EU-JRC Publishes New Plant Summary Notification for Glyphosate Tolerant Maize

The European Commission-JRC published a new summary notification for the field trial of genetically modified glyphosate tolerant maize event GA21. The field trial submitted by Syngenta Seeds GmbH will be conducted between 2009 and 2012 in Germany to gain further information relating to the use of herbicide products containing glyphosate and to evaluate the variety performance under European and German conditions.
The event has been approved for commercial cultivation in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and Japan and is currently cultivated in the USA, Canada and Argentina with no reported adverse effects to the environment or on human health.
