Vietnam Ratifies Hi-Tech Law
June 11, 2009 |
High technology activities in Vietnam will be regulated and provided policies and measures to encourage their growth. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien said in a conference in Hanoi that the Hi-Tech Law was ratified by the National Assembly in November 2008 and will take effect in July 2009. All offices, organizations, and individuals involved in research and development including technology application in the high technology industry will be covered by this law.
Dr. Doan Nang, head of the ministry's Legislation Department, added that the State would mobilize investment resources to develop science and technologies to enhance socio-economic development, security, and environmental protection. Provisions have also been included to attract foreign organizations and overseas Vietnamese to implement hi-tech activities in the country.
