
FAO Document on the Role of Biotech on Bioenergy Production

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations hosted a moderated e-mail conference on "The role of agricultural biotechnologies for production of bioenergy in developing countries", jointly organized by the FAO Working Group on Biotechnology and the FAO Working Group on Bioenergy. FAO has now made available the messages posted by 430 people who subscribed to the conference. Major topics of discussion included: applying biotechnologies in Jatropha; the potential benefits for small-scale farmers of applying biotechnologies for bioenergy production, and biogas production in developing countries.
