
Genetically Engineered Crops in Developing Countries

A new volume on GE crops in the developing countries has been released, edited by an international team of editors and contributors. The book was released in Hyderabad by Mr. A. Kallam, the Principal Secretary of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, India. The book contains 13 reviews on the current global position on various scientific issues and interrelated societal and political matters relevant to the development of GE crops in developing countries. The book also focuses on the control of crop viral diseases and contains extensive reviews and factual position on the safety and benefits of GM crops. The new volume is designed to address politicians, policy makers, bureaucracy, young scientists, students, teachers, the general public and more importantly the judiciary and the media to counter the misinformation that is being spread to mold governmental policy and public opinion against GM crop technology.
