Scientists to Develop New Soybean Varieties

September 4, 2013

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and Bayer CropScience will work together to develop new soybean varieties. The university-industry collaboration will focus on UNL's soybean germplasm, the genetic material used to develop new soybean varieties. With this, Bayer CropScience can couple its significant research and development resources to create new lines of soybean varieties suitable for diverse climate conditions across the world.

The agreement goes well beyond a traditional license to intellectual property. The collaborative work further aims to improve yield and develop new soybean traits for growers throughout the world. The agreement will also provide additional research experience and training for graduate and undergraduate students.
