Agri-biotech Laboratory Set Up in Ghana

September 4, 2013

An agricultural biotechnology research complex has been set up in Kumasi, Ghana, which is foreseen to have a great impact on the sustainable management of genetic resources for agricultural production in the country. The research center will facilitate the generation and dissemination of new agricultural technologies to farmers, processors, and other stakeholders.

The project is an initiative of the West African Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP), a World Bank funded-project, being implemented by Ghana's Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Crop Research Institute (CRI) of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
