Hongkong to Enact GMO Regulation

The Hong Kong Government informed the World Trade Organization (WTO) members that it would enact the Genetically Modified Organisms (Documentation for Import and Export) Regulation through notifications G/SPS/N/HKG/32 and G/TBT/N/HKG/34. It invited comments on the consultation paper from WTO members regarding the draft Regulation before March 31, 2010, a subsidiary regulation to the GM (Control of Release) Bill. The subsidiary Regulation provides detailed information on documentation requirements accompanying shipment containing GMOs.
