
Call for Biopharming Platforms and R&D Proposals in South Africa

Lifelab and PlantBio Trust, which are Biotechnology Innovation Centers (BICs) of the Republic of South Africa are calling for Expression of Interest on Biopharming Service Platform and Biopharming R&D Proposals. The BICs and the Department of Science and Technology of the country will jointly invest in a national initiative to establish a Biopharming Research and Development program. The program will be based on the establishment of these two thrusts: (1) national biopharming service platform(s) in which the necessary development skills, technologies, equipment and infrastructure will be consolidated; and (2) biopharming R&D projects focusing on specific products that will be developed in collaboration with the service platform(s).
