Invitation: Animal Biotechnology Symposium and Stakeholder Consultation

ISAAA Inc., in partnership with the Philippine College of Swine Practitioners, will hold an online Animal Biotechnology Symposium and Stakeholder Consultation on August 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM (GMT+8). The event is open to the public, and members of the industry involved in animal production in the Philippines are highly encouraged to attend. Registration is now open.
The activity aims to:
- Inform stakeholders an overview of the science and opportunities of animal biotechnology for food and agriculture and climate change resiliency;
- Inform stakeholders of the scope, provisions, and implementation of the guidance document JDC 1 on animal biotechnology in the Philippines; and
- Gather comments and suggestions from target stakeholders for the improvement and effective implementation of the guideline.
The webinar will feature Dr. Maribel Zaporteza of the Institute of Biological Sciences in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and and Dr. Claro Mingala, Director of the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Biotechnology Program of the Department of Agriculture and Head of the Drafting Committee of the JDC 1. Dr. Rhodora Romero-Aldemita, Executive Director of ISAAA Inc., will moderate the event.
