FAO Consultation Report on Biosafety

The report of a Food and Agriculture Organizaton (FAO) expert consultation on ""Biosafety within a biosecurity framework: Contributing to sustainable agriculture and food production" is now available online at http://www.fao.org/ag/agn/agns/meetings_consultations_2006_en.asp. The consultation aimed to a) identify and analyze potential safety issues associated with current and future applications of new biotechnologies relevant for sustainable agriculture and food production; and b) develop recommendations for FAO to appropriately address these, in particular regarding optimal risk analysis approaches.
