FSA's Public Attitudes Tracker Results Released

February 19, 2014

The top three issues of concern on food safety were food hygiene, use of additives, and food poisoning, says Food Standard Agency's Biannual Public Attitudes Tracker results. The study was conducted in November 2013 with 2,509 respondents in the United Kingdom (UK), interviewed via the TNS consumer face-to face omnibus survey.

When asked about wider food issues, the respondents said they are concerned about food prices, food waste, and amount of salt in food. Food waste concern increased by 5-8 percent compared to the previous wave of survey. The report also indicated that the female respondents were more likely to report total concern about every food safety issue except GM food.
