May 25, 2012

Researchers at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (DBI), University of Delaware is one of the few universities in the country that uses a state- of-the-art Pacific Biosciences RS DNA sequencing machine in obtaining genetic information.

The $ 744, 538 worth machine funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) award is located at the UD Sequencing and Genotyping Center. Run by Bruce Kingham, the genomic technology services can be used by University research groups and outside investigators.
