Breeding with Molecular Markers – February 2012

The University of California is holding its course on Breeding with Molecular Markers in Davis on Feb 14 and 15, 2012. This course includes a module on genomic selection, the latest integration of genomics to breeding. The course covers the basics of DNA markers, quantitative trait loci, the transition from marker assisted selection to genomic selection with a highlight on breeding for disease resistance. The course is aimed at professionals who are directly or indirectly involved in plant breeding and germplasm improvement.
