Conference on Agribiotechnology

A "Conference on Agri-biotechnology" is being organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology (NRCPB) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT) on 19-20 December 2011 in New Delhi, India. The latest developments in agriculture will be discussed and recommendations will be discussed to address the challenges hindering the sector's growth. Dr. M.S. Swaminathan will inaugurate the conference.
The two-day conference aims to create widespread awareness on the strength and potential of biotechnology to improve agricultural practices; showcase modern technology demonstrating the advent of tissue culture, genetically modified seeds, crops, flora and fauna; and discuss the international regulatory norms vis a vis Indian agricultural regulations.
