Jihong Liu Clarke and Henry Daniell released a review titled Plastid biotechnology for crop production: present status and future perspectives published in the Plant Molecular Biology Journal. The review provides insight into the current state of plastid engineering in relation to agricultural production, specifically for manipulating agronomic traits. This novel research field could contribute to the development of important crops in a changing climate.
