June 4, 2010

Australia's Office of Gene Technology Regulation invites comments for the application of the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI Victoria) for a limited and controlled release of up to 10 lines of canola genetically modified for enhanced yield and delayed leaf senescence.

The agronomic performance of the lines will be evaluated including seed yield in two sites in the Victorian local government areas of Horsham and Southern Grampians. A maximum area of 0.8 ha per growing season will be planted between the date of issue of the license and May 2012. The OGTR will be accepting written comments on the Risk Assessment and Risk Management Plan till 13 July 2010.
