Web Portal for Comparative Plant Genomics

June 11, 2009

The US Department of Energy Joint Gene Institute (DOE JGI) has released an enhanced version of Phytozome.net, a web portal for comparative plant genomics geared to advance biofuel, food, feed, and fiber research. The web portal now spans 14  plant genomes, including the genomes of soybean, sorghum, rice, papaya and grape as well as maize bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) sequences. Phytozome 4.0 includes tools for visualization of plant genomes and associated annotations, sequence analysis, and bulk, as well as targeted, plant data retrieval.
