December 12, 2012

Seed company Dow AgroSciences LLC has unveiled a three-gene herbicide tolerant soybean which is expected to be commercially released in 2015. The soybean event was submitted for U.S. regulatory approval in August 2011 and will be brought to market in high-yielding varieties, widely available in multiple brands for farmers who want improved weed control and high yields. The said event, which contains three herbicide tolerant genes stacked together as part of a single genetic event in the soybean genome, provides tolerance to Dow AgroSciences' new 2,4-D product, glyphosate, and glufosinate.
