
World Cowpea Research Conference

The 5th World Cowpea Research Conference will be held on September 27 to October 2010 in Dakar, Senegal. The theme of the conference is Improving livelihoods in the cowpea value chain through advancement in science. Topics of discussion include cowpea genetic improvement and use of molecular tools, human nutrition and processing, and enterprise development.
Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.), commonly known as "black-eyed peas", is an annual legume and a most important crop in Africa.
