
Chinese Scientist Awarded World Soybean Conference Prize

Dr. Wang Jingling of Northeast Agricultural University, China, was awarded the World Soybean Conference Prize during the World Soybean Research Conference VIII (WSRC VIII) on August 11, 2009, in Beijing, China. WSRC is the top international conference for soybean research and industry. Continuing Committee for WSRC established the World Soybean Conference Prize to recognize the awardees' contribution to the cause of global soybean research and development.
Around 2000 delegations from more than 40 countries attended the conference. Some 15 soybean farmers and 13 technical instructors from China were also invited to participate in the conference. Dr Wang Lianzheng from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences presented the status and challenges of Chinese soybean production while Dr. Eric Kueneman from the Food and Agricultural Organization gave a talk on the global soybean supply and sustainable development.
