ASCA8, organized by the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), Inc., along with co-organizers Malaysian Biotechnology Information Centre (MABIC), Pt-Bio, and the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (BIOTECH) of the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos, will take place from September 8-12, 2025, at Vivere Hotel in Muntinlupa City, Philippines.
The five-day short course is designed for scientists, regulators, communication specialists, and other stakeholders from government agencies, private companies, and non-profit organizations across Asia. It offers a comprehensive program focused on:
- The value chain of living-modified organisms (LMOs) and gene-edited crops/organisms
- National and international legal instruments governing LMOs and gene editing
- Effective communication of agricultural biotechnology innovations and biosafety regulation
- Bioethical considerations and stewardship
- The role of science diplomacy in international negotiations
ASCA consistently brings together prominent international experts, provides interactive discussions, and includes provincial day tours to biotech research facilities and farms for hands-on experience. It is a great opportunity to enhance knowledge, practical skills, and network with other professionals and experts in the field.
