The proceedings of the expert consultation hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy in 2005 are now available online. The consultation recommended that all responsible deployment of GM crops needed to comprise the whole technology development process, from the pre-release risk assessment to biosafety considerations and post-release monitoring.
