African Small Stakeholders Get Assistance from Germany
Small stakeholders in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Sierra Leone, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya, stand to benefit from a donation from the German government amounting to more than $6 million. Inter-regional projects and other initiatives will be implemented between 2010 and 2012 to support food security, nutrition and livelihoods. The donation comes from Germany's food security trust fund with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Aside from Africa, global projects will also be assisted to improve the "abilities of regional organizations to develop, implement and monitor food security training programs."
