FURARN Develops Software Tool to Identify Hazards

August 14, 2013

The Flanders-UNIDO Risk Assessment Research Network (FURARN) released DTREEv2, a decision-support software tool for the identification of hazards related to the release of GM plants into the environment.  DTREEv2 will benefit risk assessors and regulators in government and industry as well as researchers by allowing them to systematically identify GM-plant related hazards. In addition it can serve as an invaluable training tool.

The software is available at http://furarn.ugent.be/dtree2/app/welcome.html  As a networking institute and focal point bringing together different disciplines in the field of biotechnology and biosafety, the Institute of Plant Biotechnology Outreach (IPBO) acts as the coordinator of the FURARN network.
