Canada Approves Dicamba Tolerant Soybeans

Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) granted approval for dicamba tolerant soybean for food, feed, and environmental release. This advances Monsanto, the developer of the technology, in their plan to release a stacked soybean which has combined tolerance for dicamba and glyphosate herbicides for maximum protection against weeds. The biotech stacked soybean is expected to be commercially available in 2014 and will have a trade name of Genuity® Roundup Ready® 2 Xtend.
