Position Statements on Biotechnology

World Health Organization (WHO)

Website: http://www.who.org

Since its inception in 1948, WHO has been promoting scientific research in food safety and the development of principles and guidelines to be used by its Member States to assure the safety of their food supplies. This has been done through convening consultations of international experts and making the resulting recommendations available to Member States and the public through WHO publications, such as the Technical Report Series. WHO has similarly provided scientific advice on biotechnology over the past decade.
