          published its Biotechnology Strategy in June 2002. CSIRO believes that
          there is a "window of great opportunity for Australia, its people
          and industries, in the adoption and use of modern biotechnology research
          within a framework of safety controls and community acceptance. Its vision
          is for Australia is to use biotechnologies to deliver: 
        Improvements
            in our health and wellbeing;Safer
            and more globally competitive food systems;Prosperity
            through more jobs and new industry development; andA more
            sustainable environment. CSIRO is
          the largest biotechnology research organisation in Australia, delivering
          outcomes to service all areas of the national economy. CSIRO's
