Do you know that there are over 6000 varieties of apple? The most popular varieties are Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, McIntosh, Red Delicious, and Spartan. It has been estimated that by 2005, there will be newer cultivars of apples produced compared to the standard varieties. As of 2000, world production of apples reached a total of 60,831,349 million tonnes.
