Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) The United Kingdom's Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) provides independent research and training in the environmental sciences. Its mission is to gather and apply knowledge, improve understanding, and predict the behavior of the natural environment and its resources. The NERC is one of the seven UK Research Councils that fund and manage scientific research and training in the UK. It is the research council that does earth system science, and its work covers the full range of atmospheric, earth, terrestrial, and aquatic sciences. NERC also works with scientists and other partners around the world. |
