GM Mango ![]() Mangoes are picked when they are just about to ripen. But once it is ripe, the fruit easily bruises and careful handling is essential to avoid damage. Because of this, studies on how to delay ripening of mangoes are being done. The breeding of mangoes for improved flavor characteristics is being carried out at the Queensland Department of Primary Industries in Australia and the Department of Fruit Trees of Agricultural Research Organization at the Volcani Center in Israel. |
