New Assay for Screening GMOs
Chinese scientists developed a new method to be used in screening GMOs presence in foods or feeds. This new screening approach is a Quadruplex PCR assay which can be used to more than 90 approved GMO events. It offers high specificity and sensitivity with an absolute limit of detection of about 80 target copies. The developed assay has been used successfully for screening the artificial GM samples from the U.S. Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) proficiency program.
