The Theory and Practice of Genetically Engineered Crops and Agricultural Sustainability

June 24, 2011

Portland State University scientist David E. Ervin and colleagues published a paper on the theory and practice of GM crops in line with agricultural sustainability. They developed a set of criteria that can be used as guide in developing GM crops consistent with the modern sustainable agriculture theory practice. Based on these criteria, the authors presented policy options and recommendation for reforming public and private R&D and commercialization process to advance the possible contributions of GM crops to sustainable agriculture.
