Submission for Novel Food, Feed and Unconfined Release of HT Soybean in Canada

A new submission by MS Technologies LLC and Bayer CropScience Inc. to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Health Canada seeks approval for unconfined environmental release (including for import purposes) and livestock feed and food use of soybean with Double-Herbicide-Tolerant Soybean Event FG72. This biotech soybean was genetically engineered for tolerance to glyphosate and HPPD inhibitor herbicides. The submission received is in accordance with CFIA guidelines for assessment of plants with novel traits (PNTs) for unconfined release, CFIA guidelines for assessment of novel feeds from plant sources, and HC guidelines for assessment of novel foods.
