American University Gets $3 M Donation for Wheat Breeding Research

The University of Nebraska in the United States has received $3 million from a family based foundation in Grant, Nebraska to support the research initiatives of the university on wheat breeding and cropping systems. The contribution includes a $1 million outright gift and donation of 640 acres of land in Perkins County, located in southwest Nebraska, with an appraised market value of more than $2 million. The gift also provides support to the University of Nebraska's current fundraising initiative, the Campaign for Nebraska: Unlimited Possibilities, and a top priority to increase support for agriculture and life sciences programs.
